Narayan Chandra Das has been working at the Research and Evaluation Division (RED) as Research Fellow since April 2009. He joined RED in April 2007 as a Senior Research Associate. He also worked for Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) for three years as Programme Associate and Research Associate. He has obtained masters degree in economics from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2001. He participated in a training course on Trade Policy and Commercial Diplomacy organized by Centre for Trade Policy and Law (CTPL) held in Ottawa, Canada during May 29-July 07, 2006. Mohammad Abdul Malek has been working at the Research and Evaluation Division as Research Fellow since January 2011. Before joining BRAC he worked for Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development, Comilla since May 2001. For short durations, he also worked for the Institute of Microfinance, International Rice Research Institute and the Centre for Policy Dialogue based in Dhaka. He has obtained Ph.D in Rural Economics from the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences, Tottori University, Japan in 2010. Earlier he obtained two master degrees  one in Rural Economics from Yamaguchi University, Japan in 2007 and another one in Economics from University of Dhaka in 2000. He has received training in Managing Micro-enterprise and micro-finance developmentfrom Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad, India in 2004 and Introduction to poverty analysis from BIDS, Dhaka and World Bank Institution in 2002. Samir Ranjan Nath has been working at the Research and Evaluation Division (RED) as Research Coordinator since July 2008. He joined RED in January 1991 as Young Researcher. Before joining BRAC he worked for Worldview International Foundation for two-and-a-half months as Research Associate. He has obtained masters degree in Statistics from Jahangirnagar University in 1990 and in Educational Research Methodology from the University of Oxford in 1997. His research interest includes pre-primary, primary and basic education; students assessment; and supplementary private tutoring. Utpal Mallick has been working at the Research and Evaluation Division (RED) as Staff Researcher since November, 2011. Durdana Nahid has been working at the Research and Evaluation Division (RED) as Staff Researcher since November 2011.She has obtained her masters degree in Anthropology from Jahangirnagar University in 2010.Her research interest includes gender issues, educational advancement, social structure and cultural practices and development studies. Nepal Chandra Dey has been working at the Research and Evaluation Division (RED) as Research Fellow & Coordinator since September 2009. Before joining RED he worked with different national and international organizations for more than 13 years in different capacities. He has started his professional carrier in the Department of Water Resources Engineering, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) as Teaching Assistant. He worked as Agricultural Engineer/Project Director in the Department of Agricultural Extension, Ministry of Agriculture, GoB, as Education Advisor in the Embassy of Japan, Bangladesh, as Environment & Sustainable Development Specialist, UNDP Bangladesh, as Research Fellow in CASEED. He has obtained Ph.D degree in Bioenvironment Science from Tottori University, Japan in 2006. His research interest includes environmental degradation study, climate change and health impact, sustainability of water use, water pollution and water quality, environmental toxicology. Syed Masud Ahmed  has been working at the Research and Evaluation Division (RED) as Research Coordinator since April 2003. He joined RED in June 1992 as Medical Officer (Research). He also worked for ICDDR,B for more than three years as Clinical Research Fellow/Clinical Research Officer, and Ministry of Health, Iran for more than five years as Medical Officer. He has obtained Ph.D in Public Health from Karolinska Institutet University, Stockholm, Sweden in 2005, and MPH from National Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine, University of Dhaka, Dhaka, Bangladesh in 1991. He has postgraduate training in Population and International Health (as Devid E. Bell Fellow) from Centre for Population and Development Studies, Harvard University, Boston, USA in 1997. His research interests include studying the impact of microcredit-based development interventions on the health and well-being of the poor especially the ultra poor, and exploring the mechanisms of such impact; gender and health; health equity, and improving health systems ability to reach the poorest of the poor and other disadvantaged populations in the society; human resources for health, non-communicable diseases and malaria. Anita Sharif Chowdhury has been working at the Research and Evaluation Division (RED) as Research Associate since June 2009. Before joining RED she worked as Sector Specialist (Monitoring and Evaluation) in the BRAC Health Programme (BHP)/Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) project of BRAC for two years. She also worked for UNFPA for one year as Programme Associate. She has obtained Masters in Public Health from James P Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University, Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2008 and Masters in Demography from ISRT, Dhaka University in 1999. She participated in a two months-long training course on research methodology organized by School of International Training, USA and BRAC in Dhaka in 2001. Andrew Jenkins has been working at the Research and Evaluation Division (RED) as Coordinator, Impact Assessment Unit since September 2011. He joined RED in September, 2011 as Coordinator, Impact Assessment Unit. Before joining RED he worked as Donor Liaison Officer in the Donor Liaison Office of BRAC for 2 years. He also worked as for the Netherlands Government, European Commission, ADB and World Bank as a consultant in rural development and water management. He has obtained a degree (BA) in Social Science from Leeds University in England and a degree (MSc) in Agricultural Engineering from Cranfield University in England. He has a postgraduate certificate in Education from the Open University in England. His research interests include impact evaluation, rural development, water management, institutional development, and politics of climate change. Wameq A Raza has been working at the Research and Evaluation Division (RED) as Research Associate since January 2009. Before joining RED he worked as Senior Area Manager in the CFPR-TUP programme of BRAC for 3 months. He also worked for New York Dept. of Social Services for 1 year as Project Assistant. Hashima-E-Nasreen   a public health researcher is working as a Programme Head, MNCH Research Unit and coordinator of MNCH research unit at the Research and Evaluation Division, BRAC since 1994. She is a medical doctor (MBBS), and received Masters in Public Health (MPH) from Umea University, Sweden in 2001and a PhD in medical science from Karolinska Institutet, Sweden in 2011. She has received professional training on sexuality and reproductive health, HIV/AIDS in reproductive health settings, health economics from India; East-West University, Hawaii; and Umea University, Sweden. She acted as an advisor with UNFPA to evaluate the contribution of UNFPA and IPPF in addressing youths reproductive health needs and rights since ICPD in Bangladesh, and with CARE-Bangladesh to review HIV/AIDS and commercial sex workers in Bangladesh. She was an international consultant in mapping the policy process and programmatic landscape of HIV in Bangladesh with Commonwealth Secretariat, London. She is experienced with managing collaborative research projects with ICDDR,B and Plan International (Bangladesh), ICRW and CEDPA (USA), University of Aberdeen (Scotland), and Karolinska Institutet (Sweden). She has a number of publications in the reputed peer-reviewed international journals. She has disseminated research paper in several international conferences and workshops in different countries including USA, Italy, Scotland, Germany, Philippines, Sri Lanka, India, Ghana, Ethiopia.  Her main areas of interests are maternal health, mental health, sexuality and HIV/AIDS.

Morsheda Banu has been working at the Research and Evaluation Division as Research Associate since 03 December 2006. She has obtained Masters in Public Health (Reproductive and Child Health) from National Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine, Dhaka in 2006. Hasan Shareef Ahmed has been working at the Research and Evaluation Division (RED) as Chief of Editing and Publication since 12 January 1995 and also as Coordinator, Knowledge Management Unit since June 2009. Before joining BRAC he worked for ICDDR,B for more than 15 years in various capacities related to editing, scholarly publishing, and dissemination. He has obtained masters degree in Management and bachelor degree with honors in Management from the University of Dhaka. He is also a law graduate. He has postgraduate training on scientific editing and scholarly publishing from the International Rice Research Institute (Philippines), Publications and Information Directorate, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (India), BMJ Publishing Group (UK), and AHRTAG (UK). M Niaz Asadullah Dr. M Niaz Asadullah is visiting the Research and Evaluation Division (RED) as a Distinguish Fellow. He holds a Phd in Economics from Oxford University. He has published widely in the area of development economics and routinely serves as a referee for peer reviewed journals in the field of economics, development, education and population studies. He also acts as a reviewer for major grant awarding bodies such as the Department for International Development (DFID) and the Economic and Social Science Research Council (ESRC).

Dr. Asadullah is the recipient of a Leverhulme Trust Research Fellowship for 2011-2012 and is an elected Fellow of Royal Society of Arts (FRSA). He is currently on research leave from the University of Reading (UK) where he teaches economics. Previously he has held teaching/research positions at Oxford University (various departments), Harvard University, Dhaka University, East West University, Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS), UNDP (New York) and the World Bank, Washington DC (various departments).
